The new Vessel Safety Check Manual, COMDTINST M16796.8A can be found at: 
The key to becoming a great VE is all in the training. Becoming a Vessel Examiner can be done by classroom instruction along with hands on training, or by self study along with some hands on training. 

It is very important that you understand that questions on the Open Book Vessel Examiner's Examination come from the Vessel Safety Check Manual (M16796.8A), the USCG Auxiliary Facilities Guide, and the forms associated with the VE Department: ANSC 7003, 7008, 7012, 7038, and 7045. All of these items are linked below.

 FREE VESSEL SAFETY CHECK STATION AT HOFFMAN'S MARINA

On Saturday June 24, members of Flotilla 16-07 participated in the Division VSC Station as part of National Safe Boating Week.

On Saturday, May 17 training was provided to Coxswain and Boat Crew members of Division 16 by Petty Officers Henry and Robertson from USCG Station Manesquan.

This day's training was the culmination of three days of training conducted by the Coast Guard at Station Manasquan  in preparation for the 2014 patrol season.

On Saturday, May 17, at the same time some Flotilla members were participating in the Coast Guard training at Station Manasquan, other members of Flotilla 16-07 were conducting an About Boating Safely class.
